This district of houses around the Regensburg Old Town Quarter, which is so typical of Regensburg, appears in the sources as early as 1279 with the name “inter utensila” (= among everyday objects). The name “unter den Chramen” was first documented in 1359, and the name “Chramgasse” has been recorded since 1529. In 1613 the “Tandelmarkt” appears in the chronicle, where the Taendler, the old goods dealers, were present.
